SMAS results from compression of the third portion of the duodenum between the SMA and abdominal aorta due to narrowing of the space between these two structures, primarily due to loss of the intervening mesenteric fat pad。
SMAS是由于腸系膜上動脈和腹主動脈間隙狹窄對這兩個結構之間的第三段十二指腸造成壓迫。（此間隙狹窄）主要原因是缺乏腸系膜脂肪墊。
